2017 is the year when Rock am Ring returns to its origins. The organizers and the Ring managers have agreed to hold the festival at the old popular site in the Eifel. Well, we guess it's time to get your tickets, because Rock am Ring is almost sold out this year!

This year's Rock am Ring Festival will take place from June 2 to 4, 2017, at its old location at the Nürburgring. Many Ring rocker welcome this decision. After the festival proceeded for the first time at the new location on the Federal Armed Forces airfield Mendig (district Mayen-Koblenz) in 2015, festival visitors had little luck in 2016. Rock am Ring in Mendig was canceled on the second festival day due to severe thunderstorms.

Now again the original Ring. The director of the big event Marek Lieberberg said in a statement that the shift was inevitable to implement Rock am Ring. However, millions had been invested in order to ensure the permissibility in view of environmental, species and water protection. One now meets all legal requirements for the Ring.

The organizers can now focus on the essentials. The program will start in the late afternoon. Camping will be possible from 30 May 2017 on in the afternoon. The festival site will close on Monday.

Rock am Ring offers 45 new acts with over 75 bands and artists this year. Headliners are the Toten Hosen. Recently confirmed, for example, are Britpop legend Liam Gallagher, Jake Bugg, Crystal Fighters, Rival Sons, Gojira, Dat Adam, Machine Gun Kelly, Climo, Nimo, Skindred, Bonaparte, The Living End, Schmutzki, Schnipo Barrier and Egotronic. Other top acts are Rammstein, System of a Down and numerous other electronic bands.

In the meantime, around 140,000 fans have already secured their ticket for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park (Nuremberg). There are only about 10,000 tickets left for each festival. The ticket price makes 210,- euros including parking, camping, advance booking fee as well as 10, - Euro garbage deposit. The clock is ticking…
