How do I unsubscribe best on Facebook? - Jeremy Deller and his Anti-Facebook Campaign

Facebook's latest data scandal is drawing global attention. While even WhatsApp’s co-founder Brian Acton invokes to delete ones profile on Facebook permanently using the hashtag #DeleteFacebook, now the British Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller let print 2000 posters with instructions on how to leave the network.

It is a protest action that is really heavy. Last week Wednesday, the Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller distributed posters with instructions on how to leave the social platform. The focal points of the poster distribution were two high-traffic commuter stations in London and Liverpool.

The simple instructions in the "How to Leave Facebook" flyer describe six steps for the deletion of your account, including various password and captcha codes that you need to click through.

First, the magazine "Time out" reported on the intervention, which is part of the Liverpool project called "Rapid Respond Unit". RRP is a public newsroom where artist correspondents respond to messages in real time.

Jeremy Deller developed the self-explanatory campaign after Mark Zuckerberg admitted it was a mistake to let the political data company "Cambridge Analytica" – hired by Donald Trump's election campaign in 2016 – use the personal data of more than 50 million Facebook users.

Deller has been politically active in the UK for a long time. Already last year, he had a position on the British election campaign with a poster campaign in London. Deller that time published posters based on Theresa May's campaign "Strong and Stable Leadership" with the inscription "Strong and Stable my Arse", which means "powerful and stable, as if!"
